Ruben Alvero

Title: Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

Dr. Ruben Alvero completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and received his medical degree from the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Walter Reed Medical Center and his fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. Subsequently, Dr. Alvero was Division Director of the Infertility services at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Alvero joined the faculty at the University of Colorado in 2002. Dr. Alvero's clinical interests include infertility, polycystic ovary disease (PCOS), endometriosis, and reproductive surgery. Dr. Alvero is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Alvero is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a diplomate of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He is chairman of the Residency Education Committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and actively publishes in many areas of reproductive endocrinology. He recently co-edited a textbook entitled 'Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility: The Requisites' along with Dr. Schlaff. In his free time, Dr Alvero enjoys rowing, biking and classical guitar.
