The treatment approach which is chosen by the couple after consultation with their physician depends primarily upon the diagnosis as well as the couple's goals.  Sometimes the treatment approach is very obvious with minimal diagnostic workup.  At other times a complete diagnostic workup may mean that there is still no specific diagnosis.  In this case, therapy can still be undertaken.  Please refer to the ACOG Patient Education Pamphlet "Treating Infertility".
